Fish and chips

A good beer batter, or tempura style batter, can be used for many things but traditional English fish and chips is one of my favorites.  It is actually easier than many people think and making it at home is very satisfying.  I hope you will give it a shot!

 

Batter:

2 cups flour

1 TBS baking powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Juice of 1 lemon

12 oz beer

 

Tartar sauce:

1 cup mayonnaise

¼ cup grated onion

2 TBS dill relish

1 TBS chopped parsley

Juice of ½ lemon

Salt and pepper to taste

 

Dredge your fish filets in flour and then dip into the batter.

Fry at 350* for 4-5 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve with French fries, tartar sauce, and malt vinegar.
